New SW for Pride of Dubai

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 17

The $125,000 Listed Miss Andretti Stakes (1200m) at Pinjarra on Wednesday produced a new stakes-winner for Pride of Dubai with victory going to progressive mare Wild Belle.

Trained by Luke Fernie and ridden by Willie Pike, Wild Belle was second up from a spell and powered to a dominant win as a short priced favourite scoring by nearly two lengths.

An $80,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Segenhoe for part-owner Kim Doak, Wild Belle has won four of nine starts earning over $200,000  in prizemoney.

She is the best of two winners from Group III winning Clangalang mare Hi Belle, whose yearling colt by Time to Reign made $230,000 for Kingstar Farm at Magic Millions last week. Sadly she died last year and that colt is her final foal.

Wild Belle is the 22nd stakes-winner for Pride of Dubai, who enjoyed a renewed burst of popularity last spring covering over 100 mares at Coolmore at a fee of $27,500.

She is the sixth Australasian stakes-winner for Pride of the Dubai this season and two of them are Group I winners Pride of Jenni and Desert Lightning.
