Four More Today by D’Argento – New Benchmark at $300,000

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 16

Siring an impressive debut two year-old winner at a Sydney metro meeting is always going to put you front and centre and that happened for So You Think’s charismatic grey son D’Argento when Rag Queen saluted at Canterbury with his progeny finding favour at Magic Millions in a big way selling for up to $300,000.

$300,000 D'Argento colt from Lonhrolite, who is back in foal again to D'Argento.

In Book 1 last week, D’Argento had a massive result when his only yearling in that sale, a colt from Lonhrolite made $300,000 for Bowness Stud when purchased by Hawkes Racing.

That was a new benchmark for D’Argento making him the most expensive yearling for his sire, who stands at Bowness Stud at a fee of $16,500.

Bowness Stud put two more yearlings by D’Argento through the ring at the start of Book 2 and were thrilled when the colt from Lift All Boats made $220,000 to the bid of Intel Bloodstock/Hayfields Racing, while savvy purchasers Joseph Jones Racing snapped up a filly from Because We All Can for $50,000.

Bowness Stud will offer four more yearlings by D’Argento on Tuesday, click to see them.

D’Argento has an interesting runner on Wednesday at Doomben where Danielle Seib will saddle promising gelding Due Calzini. He won a trial in Sydney on January 2 at Warwick Farm and was sent to Queensland for the $500,000 Magic Millions debut, but missed a start when he found himself as an emergency.

He’s an acceptor at Doomben in the juvenile maiden and has drawn gate 6.
