Winning Return for Glenall

Tara Madgwick - Sunday November 19
Stuart Ramsey's blue-blooded Redoute's Choice stallion Glenall has always shown big race promise and looked good in returning from a spell to win at Rosehill on Saturday.

Glenall Previously trained by Les Bridge, Glenall (image Steve Hart) won on debut back in August before acquitting himself well in several stakes races during the autumn, albeit on unsuitable heavy tracks.

He was second in the Listed ATC Fireball Stakes and fourth to Russian Revolution and Redzel in the Group I ATC The Galaxy.

Now prepared by Hawkes Racing, Glenall was tuned up with two recent soft trials and hit the line strongly to win the 1100 metre Benchmark 96 event by a long head, his second win from six starts.

"I said in the interviews leading up to this race that we really wanted to see him do it and he always had the score on the board with Redzel and Russian Revolution but you always want them to see them do it," Michael Hawkes said.

"Brenton gave it a really good ride. The horse wanted to get a little bit lost up the straight, but Brenton didn't panic and nursed him as much as he could and got the job done.

"He's got a lot of improvement.

"He's a lightly raced colt that's got a lot of upside and hopefully he can go onwards and upwards from here."

Glenall is a half-brother to stakes-winner Panipique and stakes-placed Tribal Law being from the former brilliant Spinning World (USA) sprinter Our Quivira.

Our Quivira has a yearling filly by All Too Hard, but no foal this spring having missed last year to Glenall's sire Redoute's Choice.
