Newhaven Sold Filly Headed for MM 2YO Classic

Tara Madgwick - Sunday November 19
Booking her ticket to the 2018 Magic Millions 2YO Classic with a brilliant victory at Doomben on Saturday was flashy chestnut filly Singular Sensation, a $250,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newhaven Park draft for Aquis Farm / Blue Sky Bloodstock.

Singular Sensation as a yearlingThe Steven O'Dea trained daughter of Not a Single Doubt was a runaway debut winner at the Sunshine Coast on November 5 and was sent out favourite for this tougher assignment.

She made light of the heavy 10 conditions, powering clear to win the 1050 metre open juvenile event by more than three lengths.

"She's always been a filly we have a big opinion of," said Steven O'Dea.

"She's versatile and should have enough prizemoney now to get her into the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

"She's owned by a women's syndicate that includes Aquis Farm's Mrs Fung , so will be aiming for the ladies bonus at the Gold Coast.

"She can go back to Aquis Farm now for a short break and we'll look towards the Calaway Gal Stakes in about a month to get her ready for Magic Millions."

Bred by Newhaven Park in partnership, Singular Sensation is a half-sister to Group III winner Lightinthenight and is the third winner for Tiffin, a half-sister by Grand Lodge (USA) to stakes-winners Major and Happen.
