First Winner for Mahisara

Mark Smith - Sunday November 19

After his daughter Miss Sara finished runner-up at Doomben earlier in the day, Wattle Brae Stud's first season sire Mahisara did not have to wait too long for his first winner when the Ben Currie-trained Mishani Krishna earned the milestone in a maiden over 870 metres at Toowoomba.

Making her career debut, Mishani Krishna was one of the first to begin for Michael Murphy.

As the odds-on favourite Holdin' My Own was eased out of the race, Mishani Krishna gradually got the better of Grand De Lago (Dream Ahead) to win by a half-length with Monsoon Sky (Manhattan Rain) five and a half lengths back in third.

A homebred for Mishani Enterprises, Mishani Krishna is out of the 4-time winning Jet Spur mare, Caressable One who is a half-sister to the very popular Col 'N' Lil the winner of the Group III BRC Lord Mayor's Cup.

A son of More Than Ready (USA), Mahisara won back to back runnings of the Group III Sandown Stakes.

A half-brother to the Group III winner Ulmann (Sebring), Mahisara stands at Wattle Brae Stud where his fee has been advertised as on application.
