Swettenham Stud are thrilled to announce that Frankel’s exceptional Group 1 winner DIEGO VELAZQUEZ (IRE)  will shuttle to their Nagambie operation, commencing in 2026.

Local trainer Kelvin Tyler had a day out on his home track of Riverton on Sunday, training five winners including the two features with Master Marko and Prince Alby.

Cambridge Stud’s Almanzor (FR) has been firing in the Northern Hemisphere this year and one of his star performers has been French Oaks winner Gezora, who raised the bar again at Del Mar on Sunday when taking out the Group I Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare (1m3f).

Following an excellent debut when fifth behind Barber in the Group III Blue Diamond Prelude at Sandown-Hillside in February, the Peter Moody-trained Amigo created a good deal of interest when he reappeared over 1000m at Caulfield on June 24, and he was just plain awful.  

Japan claimed their first Group I Breeders Cup Classic when Forever Young proved too strong for last year’s winner, and close relation, Sierra Leone.

The ever-consistent Watch Me Rock nabbed one of only two golden tickets remaining into the G1 Railway Stakes, with a typically gutsy performance to take out the 1400m G3 Asian Beau in an Ascot thriller!

There is a sense of déjà vu for Pam Gerard as she navigates a muddled path to this year’s Gr.1 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai New Zealand 2000 Guineas (1600m), but she is keeping her eye on the prize.

After Ethical Diamond won the Ebor Handicap in August the obvious path was the Melbourne Cup but he did not meet strict veterinary requirements, so Irish trainer Willie Mullins bought a bell, and went to win the Group I Breeders Cup Turf with his seven time hurdler.
