When She’s Hot She’s Hot!

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday December 20

Godolphin’s blueblood I Am Invincible filly Shaken has had some ups and downs in her career so far, but ability has never been in doubt and she showed what she is made of with a resounding win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

After earning the ire of stewards with a disinterested last on debut at Randwick in February, the James Cummings trained Shaken returned in July to blitz a maiden field at Wyong before a fading third in a strong Saturday race behind Caballus and Estriella when she bled and was subsequently banned for the mandatory period.

Ridden by Tyler Schiller, Shaken was sent out favourite for the Benchmark 72 event over 1100m and bolted in by four lengths. A touch of class at a midweek summer meeting, Shaken will be well worth following into tougher company.

A half-sister to Group II placed Sumatra and stakes-placed winner Namazu, Shaken is the fourth winner from as many to race for the top-class Exceed And Excel mare Earthquake, winner of the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes and a full sister to the dam of Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Madame Pommery.

I Am Invincible

Shaken is one of 30 winners in the last 30 days for I Am Invincible, who leads the Australian General Sires List with $18.6million in progeny earnings, some $5million in advance of his nearest rival.
