Per Incanto Filly Makes Winning Debut - Sister at Karaka

Mark Smith - Wednesday December 20

The Per Incanto (USA) filly Photographics (NZ) made a winning career debut in the Hyland Race Colours Maiden Hcp (1000m) on a rain-sodden Warick Farm track on Wednesday.

Taking advantage of the 3kg clain of Molly Bourke, the John Sargent-trained 2-year-old led at every call to defeat the Pierata debutant Miss Piera by a length and a quarter with the Calyx (GB) first-starter Husk a short-half-head back in third.

Racing for the family of her trainer, Photographics was passed in short of her $100,000 reserve when consigned by Little Avondale Stud to Book 1 of the 2023 NZB Karaka Yearling Sale.

Photographics failed to make her $100,000 reserve at Karaka

It’s very timely as Little Avondale consigns a sister to Photographics on behalf of Fusion Thoroughbreds and Brown Thoroughbreds to Book 2 to the Karaka Yearling Sale in February (Lot 818).

Photographics is the first winner from four to race for the talented Fast 'n' Famous mare Los Vargas, a 6-time winning half-sister to the Group III ATC Aspiration Stakes winner Karavali (Nadeem) and Listed winner Sir Nate, who was second in the Group 1 New Zealand Two Thousand Guineas and Group 1 Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes.

A Group 1 winning son of Street Cry (IRE), Per Incanto (USA) started his career at a modest $4,000. Now firmly affixed among the leading stallions in Australasia, Per Incanto (USA) commanded a fee of $50,000 at Little Avondale Stud this season.
