Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic – Sale Mail

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday December 12

The $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic RL (1100m) at Wyong on Wednesday has drawn a field of nine with the hot favourite being Trapeze Artist colt Spywire, who was scratched from Saturday’s Listed BRC Phelan Ready Stakes in preference for this assignment.

Spywire was a $520,000 purchase from Widden Stud.

A $520,000 purchase from the Widden Stud draft, the Maher and Eustace trained colt won easily at Rosehill last month and appeals as the horse to beat, although has drawn a little awkwardly in gate eight.

First season sires Too Darn Hot (GB), Pierata and Brutal are represented, while the powerful Waterhouse Bott stable will send out unraced Street Boss (USA) filly Toque, who is two from two at the trials.

While this race has been won by some forgettable horses over the years, it has also been a pivotal stepping stone for others to progress to much bigger things with the honour roll including champion sires Snitzel and Not a Single Doubt along with Golden Slipper winning colts Capitalist and Farnan, whose first yearlings are set to light up the Gold Coast sale ring in January.
