While not making the first page of leaders, bloodstock agents from Australasia were kept busy on the opening day of the Arqana Vente d'Elevage.

Dean Hawthorne teamed up with Badgers Bloodstock for some choice lots while China Horse Club. Lucky Vega, First Light Racing, William Johnson Bloodstock, Belmont Bloodstock Agency, Aristia Park, and Catheryne Bruggeman / Paul Moroney were all active.

Lot 197 Mise En Scene (GB) (Siyouni x Gladfly by Galileo) Purchaser: Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock / Badgers Bloodstock €800,000

Mise En Scene won the Group III Prestige Stakes at Goodwood at two and was fourth behind Inspiral in the Group 1 Fillies Mile at Newmarket and was fourth at her most recent start in the Grade 1 Beverley D Stakes at Colonial Downs.

The daughter of Siyouni is out of a half-sister to the Group 1 Thousand Guineas heroine Speciosa (Danehill Dancer). 

Lot 185 French Bob (IRE) (Galileo x Beauty Parlour by Deep Impact) Purchaser:  Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock / Badgers Bloodstock €675,000

A winner at Deauville, French Bob is a half-sister to Gr1 First Lady Stakes winner Blowout (Dansili) out of Deep Impact’s French 1000 heroine Beauty Parlour whose dan Bastet is a stakes-winning half-sister to the champion Might and Power.

A sister to Gr II winner Plumatic and half to Listed winner Maniaco, Plumage is a daughter of the Gr1 Prix de Saint Cloud winner Plumania and was covered by Intello.

Lot 149 Drawn To Run (Hurricane Run x Dawn Dane by Danehill) Purchaser: Lucky Vega €290,000

Covered by Siyouni to Southern Hemisphere time, Drawn To Run is the dam of the Grade 1 Beverley D Stakes winner Dalika and the Listed winner Drawn To Dream.

Lot 92  (FR) (Intello x Eiriamach Na Casca by Intense Focus) Purchaser: Howson & Houldsworth Bloodstock / First Light Racing €200,000

A winner at Sandown for Brian Meehan and fourth most recently in a GrIII at Deauville, the rising 3yo filly will do her future racing in Australia.

The daughter of Intello is out of a sister to Gr1 Irish Derby winner Trading Leather (Teofilo).

  Lot 232 Levante Breeze (IRE) (Siyouni x Liffey Dancer by Sadler’s Wells) Purchaser: Belmont Bloodstock Agency €160,000

Levante Breeze is a three-quarter sister to the Group III Round Tower stakes winner Treasure Trove.

Liffey Dancer is a sister to Gr1 winner Listen and Sequoyah, dam of 4-time Gr1 winner Henrythenavigator.

Lot 148 Sparklia (IRE) (Dark Angel x Gwenseb by Green Tune) Purchaser: Dean Hawthorne / Badgers Bloodstock €155,000

A winner at Chantilly, Sparklia was covered by Intello in her first season.

The daughter of Dark Angel is a half-sister to four stakes-winners, three of which were Group 1 performers, while the fourth stakes-winner, Foreign Tune is the dam of Gr 1 United Nations Hcp winner Adhamo, a daughter of Intello.

Lot 31 Meseika (USA) (Medaglia d’Oro x Unrivalled Belle by Unbridled’s Song) Purchaser: Belmont Bloodstock / Aristia Park €140,000

Covered by Sea The Moon, Meseika is the dam of the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Osmose (Zoffany), part owned by Aristia Park, who completed the Melbourne Spring carnival with placings in the GrII Matriarch Stakes and GrIII Tesio Stakes.

Meseika is a half-sister to triple Gr1 winner Unique Bella (Tapit) out of the Gr1 Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic winner Unrivaled Belle.

Stakes-placed at Longchamp and winner of her first two starts at Sain-Cloud for Godolphin, 4yo mare Sun Flare is out of a half-sister to Gr1 Prix Saint Alary winner Coquerelle (Zamindar).

Lot 48 Ad Astra (GER) (Protectionist x Amabelle by Danehill Dancer) Purchaser: C. Bruggeman / P. Moroney Bd / Pangloss €80,000

A stakes-placed winner of two races, Ad Astra is a sister to multiple GrII winner and Gr1 placed Amazing Grace who was sold here last year for €850,000.

The daughter of Melbourne Cup winner Protectionist hails from the family of Alydar, Anna Pola, National Defense and Darley’s blue hen Accessories.

A half-sister to GrIII Prix Miesque winner Dame Du Roi (Dark Angel), Winning Side is a 2-time winner this season at three for Pascal Bary.

Lot 100 Sadalsuud (IRE) (Territories x Ephigenie by Groom Dancer) Purchaser: C. Bruggeman / P. Moroney Bd / JML Bd NZ €65,000

A stakes winner of six races and Group-placed in Italy, Sadalsuud is a daughter of the stakes-winner Ephigenie, a sister to GrII winner and twice Gr1 runner-up Egerton and half to Gr1 German Oaks winner Enora (Noverre).

Lot 25 Taleya (FR) (Pivotal x Taniya by High Chaparral) Purchaser: Lucky Vega €62,000.

Taleya is an unraced 3yo half-sister to Group III Prix Chloe winner Tariyana (Sea The Stars) out of the Group III winning High Chaparral mare Taniya.

Lot 106 Shirin (USA) (War Front x Purchaser: Esneh by Sadler’s Wells) Belmont Bloodstock Agency €60,000

A winning 3yo daughter of War Front, Shirin is a half-sister to GrII Prix du Muguet winner Bawina, who was third in the Gr1 Prix Rothschild.

Her dam Esneh is a half-sister to Gr1 French Oaks winner and Arc runner-up Egyptband.
