KHALAMA
Still can't believe she won given the interference she copped. A lesser mare would have given up when she endured a big check near the 200m mark and she went from travelling powerfully to almost standing still. Owner Alan Bell doesn't buy many duds so you can be virtually assured this well-bred mare will win plenty of races in Brisbane. The former Kiwi is relaxing much better since coming to Australia and trainer Tony Gollan is keen to get her to six furlongs.
Career record (14:5-2-1).

UMBERTO
This two-year-old Tony Gollan gelding was a certainty beaten as he returned in great style from a troublesome first preparation. Raced kindly and everything was looking tip-top for a powerful win until trouble struck when an inside run closed for Jim Byrne. Not quite sure what went wrong with him in his first two runs in February but this effort on resuming showed there is plenty of talent there.
Career record (3:0-1-0).
Race to look for – 3YO Handicaps in Brisbane in the next racing season, looks like will be best suited in the 1200-1400m range

SONY LEGEND
This sprinter is no superstar but reckon he is going really well and will be winning soon given some luck. Has performed well in Stakes grade this campaign (fast closing second behind Miss Gunpowder) and just simply never got a crack at them at Doomben on the weekend. You always have your heart in your mouth with his racing pattern but stick with him and the chances are he will bob up and reward you at good odds one day soon.
Career record (34:8-6-3).
Race to look for – Open Handicaps in Brisbane over 1200m
