Chatty Lady Makes it Three Stakes Winners on the Day for Spirit Of Boom

Mark Smith - Saturday December 9

It was a red-letter day at Eagle Farm for Spirit Of Boom as Chatty Lady made it three stakes-winners for Eureka Stud’s flagship stallion when she sailed down the middle of the track to claim the Listed Ladbrokes Just Now Stakes (1300m).

Ridden by Kyle Wilson-Taylor for Mark Currie, Chattly Lady finished determinedly to defeat the Reliable Man mare Essonne by three-quarters of a length, with the Better Than Ready mare Better Get Set a half-head back in third.

Passed in short of her $35,000 reserve when offered by Raheen Stud at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale, Chatty Lady advances her record to seven wins, three seconds, and two thirds from 19 starts with earnings of $459,900.

Few will celebrate more than Raheen Stud, who consigns a Better Than Ready half-brother to the Magic Millions in January (Lot 1382).

The 5-year-old daughter of Spirit Of Boom is the best of four winners from five to race for the winning Commands mare, She Can Command and is the first stakes winner in the family for the best part of half a century.

Chatty Lady failed to make her $35,000 reserve at the Nagic Millions March Yearling Sale

Spirit Of Boom’s highly promising two-year-old Barbie's Sister kick-started the day in the Listed Aquis Stallions Calaway Gal Stakes (1000m), then All That Pizzazz added the Listed Sky Racing Bribie Hcp (1000m) to his win in the Listed Weetwood (1200m) at Toowoomba.

Chatty Lady is the 25th stakes-winner for Spirit Of Boom, with 37 youngsters heading to the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and ten at the Inglis Classic.
