First Runner a Winner for Unite and Conquer

A fast pre-Christmas stakes-winning juvenile, Kingstar Farm’s promising young sire Unite and Conquer was always a popular contender to strike with a winner of his own before Christmas and has done so at Ipswich on Wednesday with a fast finishing debut win for What a Doozy.

Trained by Liam Birchley, who has a happy knack for producing slick juveniles, What a Doozy showed potential with a recent barrier trial second at the Sunshine Coast and took her good form to race day.

What a Doozy surged to the line for Michael Rodd to score a neck win in the 800m scamper providing Unite and Conquer with a winner from his very first runner.

Bred and retained to race by Marshall Thoroughbreds, What a Doozy is a half-sister to Group II winner Blueberry Hill and is the sixth winner from eight foals to race from Perkipsey, an unraced Falbrav (IRE) mare from stakes-winner Brief Kiss.

Perkipsey has just foaled this spring to another of the Kingstar Farm sires in Time to Reign producing a colt at the start of November.

Unite and Conquer has sired his first winner!

Unite and Conquer has had a number of juveniles showing up in trials and jump outs with expectation that some may target the $500,000 Magic Millions Debut races for unraced fillies and colts / geldings on January 13.

Unite and Conquer also had one of the fastest two year-olds at the Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale with a colt from Sukhar galloping in 10.36 seconds and selling for $110,000.

A brilliantly fast son of Hinchinbrook from a family packed with Australian juvenile speed tracing back to legendary blue hen Dark Jewel, Unite and Conquer stands at a fee of just $6,600 and has three entries for the 2024 Magic Millions and two for Inglis Classic.
