She's Extreme Confirmed for 2024 Inglis Chairman's Sale

Media Release - Wednesday November 29

G1 superstar She’s Extreme – one of the best credentialled fillies to race in Australia this century – is the first confirmed major entry into next year’s Inglis Chairman’s Sale.

A graduate of the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale and a daughter of star stallion Extreme Choice, She’s Extreme is set to be one of – if not the most – significant filly or mare to be offered to public market off the track in 2024.

She’s Extreme was one of the most versatile and talented race fillies in recent memory – she showed prodigious talent as a 2YO, winning the G2 Magic Night Stakes over 1200m at just her third start, before denying G1 Golden Slipper and G1 Inglis Sires winner Fireburn a Triple Crown when beating that filly in the G1 Champagne Stakes over 1600m at Randwick.

She progressed further as a 3YO, placing in both the G1 Flight Stakes at a mile and the G1 Spring Champion Stakes before an easy win in the prestigious G1 VRC Oaks.

She’s Extreme is one of only 11 fillies in the past 20 years in Australia to win a G1 at two and three, joining the likes of subsequent star producers Miss Finland (dam of Stay With Me), Yankee Rose (dam of Japanese Champion Liberty Island) and Samaready (dam of Golden Slipper winner Shinzo).

Since the turn of the century, Oaks-winning mares in Australia have a stunning record as producers, breeding the likes of Anamoe, Yearning, Pinot, Stay With Me and Miami Bound amongst others.

Trained by Anthony Cummings, She’s Extreme raced only 11 times before her retirement, 10 of which were in Stakes races and seven at G1 level where she placed a further three times on top of her two top-level wins.

She had a Timeform peak of 117 as a 2YO, higher than the likes of Sunlight, Coolangatta, Away Game, Loving Gaby, English, Shoals, Houtzen, Dame Giselle, Jamaea, Isotope, Paris Dior, Anaheed etc at two.

She’s Extreme will be offered in the Newgate Consignment at next year’s Chairman’s Sale.

Managing owner Robert Crabtree described She’s Extreme as “an out-and-out superstar’’.

“She was such a brave horse with a phenomenal turn of foot and a race record that very few can match,’’ Crabtree said.

“It is nothing short of extraordinary that she won the Magic Night at two over six furlongs and went on to win the Classic G1 Champagne Stakes and then extended way beyond her natural distance to win the G1 Victorian Oaks at three.

“She was never really an Oaks filly in our mind but she had this amazing ability to extend herself beyond her comfort zone, she was always on top of her game and we thought she could do anything, and she did.

“It is likely that we never actually saw the very best of her, I am adamant and so is Anthony Cummings that had she not suffered the misfortune of injury, she would have built an even more distinguished race record than the one that she retired with.

“The other amazing thing about her is she’s the most exquisite type, tremendously strong with a superb girth, lovely hind quarter, stands over a lot of ground, she’s just a classic painting of a female horse.’’

Newgate’s Henry Field added: “We are honoured and humbled that Robert Crabtree and the ownership group has entrusted us with the responsibility of consigning She’s Extreme at the 2024 Inglis Chairman’s Sale.

“She’s the rarest of commodities being a Group 1-winning 2YO that trained on to win the G1 VRC Oaks at three.

“Most importantly she’s by the most elite stallion statistically standing in the Southern Hemisphere in Extreme Choice and she’s just a gorgeous mare.’’

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch was thrilled that She’s Extreme’s connections had chosen the Chairman’s Sale to offer their star filly.

“The Chairman’s Sale is such a special evening which the market has recognised and now embraced to a phenomenal extent, particularly in the past few years and the presence of She’s Extreme will ensure the 2024 renewal will mean the momentum of the sale will continue to build,’’ Hutch said.

“We have offered many top-class fillies and mares in the relatively short history of the sale, but She’s Extreme will be arguably the most talented breeding prospect that we will have ever offered through the Chairman’s Sale.

“The engagement in the Chairman’s Sale from all the major local investors and an ever increasing number of significant international investors has been awesome and is only going to continue to grow.

“It is a sale inked into the calendars of anyone who is serious about investing in the very best Australasian breeding stock.

“We took great pleasure in seeing She’s Extreme develop from an Inglis Digital weanling, to an Easter yearling and then into a star race filly, so we are hugely grateful to the ownership group for providing Inglis with the opportunity to market her to the world as a breeding prospect – it’s incredibly exciting.’’

Places in the Inglis Chairman’s Sale – which will be held at Riverside on the evening of Thursday May 9 - are strictly limited. To enquire about entering a race filly or broodmare into the 2024 Chairman’s Sale, contact a member of the Inglis bloodstock team.
