Spring Standout- Pride of Dubai

Joe Carbone - Tuesday November 21

You don’t have to walk too far to find this year’s spring sire standout, aside from the obvious in legendary I Am Invincible and his heir apparent Zoustar, the progeny of Pride Of Dubai have excelled throughout the carnival.

It has been his mares that have put together a string of stakes victories in which has catapulted the Coolmore based son of Street Cry (IRE) to 6th overall on the sires table.

Without doubt his most impressive of those has been the Maher Eustace trained galloper Pride Of Jenni with back to back Group I victories in the Empire Rose and Champions Mile.

Other notable spring performers for Pride Of Dubai include Bella Nipotina winning the Giga Kick Stakes beating Everest duo Think About It and Private Eye, the Kent trained Deny Knowledge (IRE) winning the Matriarch Stakes and Hypothetical who capped off the stellar spring with a well deserved maiden stakes victory on the weekend in the Listed Village Stakes.

Other standout gallopers include European raider Dubai Honour (IRE), who snared two Aussie G1 wins last season and top class mares West Australian Oaks winner She’s Fit and multiple Group winning Miranda Park homebred Sirileo Miss.

That said, it’s sets up beautifully for Pride Of Dubai to make his mark as a broodmare sire in the years to come. Anyone own a filly of his right now?.. I’d be feeling pretty comfortable.

Hailing from a family littered with designated Reines-de-course mares you would think Pride Of Dubai has done enough to re-establish himself as a premier sire and a great choice for many Australian breeders.
