Positive Start for Worthy Cause

The team at Clear Mountain Fairview in Queensland are delighted to report promising Choisir stallion Worthy Cause is getting his mares in foal with his early coverings testing positive at 45 days including the dam of a stakes-winner.

The dam of Group III winner Col 'n' Lil, Street Cry (IRE) mare Jyler is one of those mares to test positive.

Worthy CauseA Magic Millions graduate prepared by Queensland's top juvenile trainer John Zielke, Worthy Cause was a tough and tenacious racehorse and showcased his outstanding ability from the time he won on debut.

He won as a two-year-old, collected Group honours as a three-year-old and continued to record black type success as a four-year-old at Flemington.

His biggest win came in the Group III GCTC Gunsynd Classic (1800m) by two lengths from multiple Group performer Upham.

A half-brother to Group placed Octane Flyer, Worthy Cause comes from the family of top class Group I winning sprinter / milers Referral and Singing the Blues and champion galloper Shogun Lodge who won the Group I AJC Epsom Handicap, Queen Elizabeth Stakes and George Main Stakes earning over $4.6 million in prizemoney.

Worthy Cause will seek to add further success to Choisir's growing reputation as a sire of sires, his sons at stud including the Group I producing Starspangledbanner as well as Group I winning sons such as Olympic Glory (IRE), The Last Lion (IRE) and Divine Prophet.

Worthy Cause stands at a fee of $5,500.
