Our trial report detailing unraced runners right around Australia for first season sires is popular reading for those following the fortunes of these young sires and looking for a glimmer of smoke that could burst into flame before the end of the breeding season.

Tassort got the Group III ATC Gimcrack Stakes winner Manaal with his first runner, but a flurry of trial activity would indicate there is more to come from this young son of Brazen Beau whop is certainly bred to get them fast and early.

The Champion European 2YO Colt, Too Darn Hot (GB) is another with enough recent trial action to suggest his progeny are coming to hand nicely, albeit he does appeal as a stallion that would make his presence felt with autumn style juveniles and three year-olds next season.

Zoustar stallion Sun City has had two winners from three starters and sits on top of the first season sires table, while another Zoustar son in Zousain looks poised for take off.
