Stakes-placed in Australia and a three time winner at Caulfield and Flemington when racing as Thron Bone, Invincible Sage is now trained by David Hall after being sold to Hong Kong earlier this year.

Making his first appearance for the new season in Hong Kong in the Class 3 sprint over 1000m, Invincible Sage produced a scintillating finish to charge home and win by a length and a half running away.

“I think there’s more to come with him, he’s a very uncomplicated horse. He has a perfect temperament and racing style for Hong Kong – he’s got a bit to offer. It’s lovely to see him do that, but it comes as no surprise,” Hugh Bowman said after the win.

Invincible Sage was a $200,000 Inglis Premier yearling.

A gorgeous type, very typical of what Thronum can produce, Invincible Sage was a $200,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the draft of Sun Stud for Rich River Meat Exports Pty Ltd and is the first winner from Thorsborne, a winning sibling to Group II winner Diamond Tathagata and stakes-winner Ancestry.

Invincible Sage is the best of 15 winners from 31 starters for Thronum, the sire of three Australian winners this season including Whiskyontherocks, who has won two of his past four starts at Ballarat and Swan Hill.

“The opportunity to stand a stallion of Thronum’s quality was too good to pass up,” Maiton Ag proprietor, Paul Cocking enthused.

“Thronum gives breeders access to a stallion with a proper pedigree, an elite racing profile and impressive progeny performance.

“As a 'breed-to-race' breeder myself, with a handful of mares, Thronum is the perfect fit for me and, I think that will be the case for quite a few breeders and trainers around the Wagga area as well.”

By champion sire Snitzel from the family of champion sires Street Cry (IRE) and Shamardal (USA), Thronum has a big pedigree to match his good looks.
