Mosheen's Son Danon Ayers Rock Remains Unbeaten

Four-time Group 1 winner Mosheen (Fastnet Rock) was represented by her second stakes-winner when Danon Ayers Rock (JPN) kept his record at a perfect two for two in the Listed Ivy Stakes (1800m) at Tokyo on Saturday.

Ridden by Joao Moreira for Noriyuki Hori the son of Maurice (JPN) knuckled down in the closing stages to reel in the free-striding Kizuna colt Ho O Purosangue to win by three-quarters of a length with the Suave Richard filly Regaleira a neck back in third.

A ¥495,000,000 ($5.3m) Select Sale purchase for Masahiro Noda’s Danox Co. Ltd., Danon Ayers Rock (JPN) was appearing for the first time since breaking his maiden for Damian Lane over the same course and distance on June 11.

The 2yo son of Maurice (JPN) is a half-brother to triple Group III winner Primo Scene (Deep Impact), who was runner-up in the Group 1 Victoria Mile at Tokyo., who is the best of four winners from seven to race for Mosheen.

Danon Ayers Rock

Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr purchased an Epiphaneia filly, out of Mosheen’s daughter Paronella for ¥60,000,000 (A$648,000) at the Select Sale.

Paronella (Lord Kanaloa) was runner-up in four of her eight starts. The filly is named Yachiyo (JPN) and races for a syndicate that includes Trilogy.

Mosheen’s daughter Riversleigh (JPN) is at Arrowfield Stud and the daughter of Duramente (JPN) has a yearling colt by Kizuna.

Mosheen has a yearling colt by Epiphaneia(JPN) and a filly foal by Maurice (JPN).

Danon Ayers Rock is the 20th black-type winner for Arrowfield Stud shuttler, Maurice (JPN).
