Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Friday October 13

Only one heat for juveniles at Rosehill this morning, but it was interesting with the winner being the most expensive yearling by Deep Field sold in 2023.

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden and ridden by Zac Lloyd, High Octane was having his second trial after finishing third to I Am Invincible colt Agenda Setter in his first trial 10 days ago. This time he reversed the placings and powered to the line to win by a long neck over Agenda Setter, who was given a good shake up.

A $1,050,000 Inglis Easter purchase for China Horse Club / Newgate / Go Bloodstock / Trilogy from the Segenhoe draft, High Octane is the second foal of stakes-winning Not a Single Doubt mare Granny Red Shoes.

The Champion Sire of HK for the past two seasons, Deep Field has been pensioned so there will be tremendous interest in his last colts.
