100th Stakes-Winner for I Am Invincible

It’s been a good day at the office for champion sire I Am Invincible with three stakes-winners and the third of them to salute, six year-old gelding Jack the Lad, became his 100th lifetime stakes-winner when capturing the Listed $120,000 Murray Bridge Gold Cup (1600m).

A $575,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Milburn Creek draft for Waller Racing/Mulcaster Bloodstock, Jack the Lad started life in the stables of champion trainer Chris Waller, but was on-sold through Inglis Digital in September last year for $30,000 and headed to South Australia to be trained by Wayne Francis and Glen Kent.

Jack the Lad has been on the improve this preparation and was second at his last run in the Listed Balaklava Cup laying the foundations for his first Black Type success.

He stormed to the line to win by a length taking his overall record to five wins and 12 placings from 33 starts with prizemoney just shy of $300,000.

Jack the Lad was bred by Milburn Creek giving them a stakes double on the day as they also bred and retained to race quality Hellbent mare Magic Time, winner of the Group III ATC The Nivison at Rosehill.

Jack the Lad was bred and sold by Milburn Creek.

He is the first winner for Luluoru, an unraced half-sister by Redoute’s Choice to US stakes-winner Topic from the family of triple Group I winning Champion US 3YO Colt Afleet Alex.

Jack the Lad was the third stakes-winner on Saturday for I Am Invincible joining King’s Gambit and Bodyguard.
