Three to follow from Flemington Jumpouts October 20

Darryl Sherer - Sunday October 22

A quieter morning as the spring carnival kicks into top gear but some unraced horses came under notice with some pleasing trials on Friday.

Group I winners Good Project and It's Somewhat took part in heat two with Good Project scoring while the James Cummings-trained import Ancient History showed plenty of speed to win heat four.

Friday's heats were on the inside grass, starting from the 800m and the markers out four metres, riders reporting the ground riding in the good(4) range.

Racenet has highlighted three unraced horses it might pay punters to follow in coming weeks.

JAWWAAL

Unraced two-year-old colt by Snitzel and trained by Lindsay Park Racing. Took a couple of strides to get balanced but then travelled strongly just behind the lead in heat nine. Ridden along for a short distance to come between horses around the turn then went to the line under a hold, sharing the heat with the Leon and Troy Corstens-trained Frazier in 49.20 seconds. The Mike Moroney-trained Chicago Club beaten 2 1/2-lengths in fourth but never under any serious pressure in an educational trial. The time of this heat was nothing to get excited about but Jawwaal was always travelling strongly and should come on for the experience.

Career (Unraced)

FRIEDENSBERG

An unraced three-year-old colt by High Chaparral and trained by Tony McEvoy. Jumped from the inside and settled in second place behind the Ellerton Zahra-trained Do It For Dotti which went out to lead clearly in heat seven. Travelling strongly off the bend and under a hold as Do It For Dotti came under a ride, through the line in second, beaten two lengths in 47.14 seconds without being put under pressure at any stage. Good looking colt with scope for further physical improvement and in the right stable to be placed to advantage.

Career (Unraced).

BIONICS

Unraced two-year-old colt by Hinchinbrook and trained by Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra. Broke smartly and led for a short time in heat three before settling behind the Waterhouse Bott-trained Amami and the Corstens-trained Rally Swish. Travelling strongly off the bend but restrained by Chris Symons, through the line in third, beaten 1 1/2-lengths in 48.31 seconds - faster than the other two-year-old heat won by Jawwaal. Bred to be fast and looks a natural two-year-old - based on this he looks to have his share of ability.
