Chris Waller will send out his glamour colts Shinzo and Militarize, who between them won the Sydney 2YO Triple Crown during the autumn.

Shinzo has not raced since winning the Golden Slipper (1200m), while Militarize won the Sires Produce (1400m) and Champagne Stakes (1600m) before resuming with a late closing fifth in the Run to the Rose to Cylinder when he was carrying a weight penalty.

Shinzo had his last trial in preparation for his return on August 11 and looked good surging past Zaaki(GB).

A high pressure 1400m first up is going to be a big test for Shinzo, who has not raced beyond 1200m and while Militarize ticks a lot of boxes the likelihood of a firm track may not be ideal given his European female pedigree with his three wins in the autumn all on soft or heavy ground.

Cylinder was as big as a house when he came back and has needed two hard runs to get him fit and Godolphin have a great record in this race.

Ciaron Maher and David Eustace sent King Colorado out on mission impossible in the Group I ATC Winx Stakes against the older WFA stars last month, but this race is very much mission possible with a good confidence boosting barrier trial to get him back on track.

Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr won the Golden Rose last year with Jacquinot, who beat outstanding I Am Invincible filly In Secret and they are returning this year with a filly by her sire in Charm Stone.

Is Charm Stone as good as In Secret? She’ll need to be to mix it with the big boys!
