One to Watch – Goulburn

Tara Madgwick - Friday September 8

This expensive Snitzel colt chased some good horses home in Group races last season and was duly sent out a short priced favourite at Goulburn on Friday.

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, Snapback was second in the Group II BRC Sires Produces Stakes to Cifrado and fifth to King Colorado in the Group I BRC JJ Atkins, but ended his juvenile season winless after five starts.

Given an easier assignment when resuming from a spell in the 1300m maiden, Snapback won as he pleased and will take good confidence from the experience heading back into Black Type races.

An $825,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Arrowfield draft for China Horse Club/Newgate Bloodstock/Trilogy Racing, Snapback is  a full brother to stakes-winner Wee Nessy and is the fourth winner from stakes-placed More Than Ready (USA) mare Later Gator, a grand-daughter of brilliant Group II winner Light Up The World.

Snapback was an $825,000 Magic Millions purchase.

Arrowfield Stud sold a Dundeel filly from Later Gator for $100,000 at Inglis Classic this year.
