Fourth Stakes-Winner for Blue Point

Tara Madgwick - Sunday September 3

Anticipation surrounds the appearance of the first Australian bred two year olds by Darley shuttler Blue Point (IRE), who sired his fourth stakes-winner in France on Saturday when Shady Lady won the Listed Craon Prix du Haras de Bouquetot (1600m).

Trained by Nicolas Clement, shady Lady made it two wins from three starts when scoring by three-quarters of a length.

Shady Lady was purchased by her trainer for €80,000 at the Arqana October Yearling Sale and is a three-quarter sister to Group II placed Grecian Light and half-sister to stakes-placed Mqse de Maintenon. She is the best of nine winners from nine foals to race from terrific producer Akrivi, a half-sister by Tobougg to dual Group I winning sprinter and sire Dutch Art.

Blue Point has sired 31 Northern Hemisphere first crop winners highlighted by four stakes-winners.

The champion sprinter by Shamardal is back at Darley Victoria at a fee of $44,000.
