Thronum to Stand at Maiton Ag - Test Your Mare

Media Release - Wednesday August 23

One of the most exciting sprinters of his time, Group 2 Australian Stakes winner & Group 1 William Reid runner-up THRONUM will stand at Maiton Ag in Mangoplah, NSW.

A son of four-time Champion sire Snitzel, Thronum has a tremendous pedigree, being closely related to leading sires Shamardal (166 stakes winners) and Street Cry (134 stakes winners).

Excitingly, THRONUM is already off to an exciting start at stud with 14 first-crop winners from just 23 runners.

Thronum is the sire of triple Metropolitan 2YO winner and Listed ATC Brian Crowley runner-up Thron Bone (subsequently sold to Hong Kong and renamed Invincible Sage), 3YO Caulfield winner Cute As, as well as 4-time winner Original Glaze (contested G1 Qld Oaks), 3-time winner Gulf Of Lion and four other dual winners.

Meanwhile, last start Morphettville 2YO 1000m runner-up Zanthron and Hong Kong galloper Midas Touch both appear to have huge upside.

“The opportunity to stand a stallion of Thronum’s quality was too good to pass up,” Maiton Ag proprietor, Paul Cocking enthused. “Thronum gives breeders access to a stallion with a proper pedigree, an elite racing profile and impressive progeny performance.

“As a 'breed-to-race' breeder myself, with a handful of mares, Thronum is the perfect fit for me and, I think that will be the case for quite a few breeders and trainers around the Wagga area as well.

“There’s already been a lot of talk about him and that’s before he has even been officially announced.”

Thronum is a paid up BOBS stallion and will stand for an advertised fee of $3,300 inc GST, with live foal terms, while discounts will be available for payment upon a 45-day positive pregnancy.

Please contact Paul Cocking 0428 212 776 or paulcocking@maitonag.com.au to secure a Thronum stallion nomination.
