Everest Heroes Build Up

Craig Tompson - Monday August 21

24 hours after Everest hero Giga Kick stretched his legs in a jump out, another Everest winner and two more hopefuls will barrier trial together at Rosehill on Tuesday morning.

Giga Kick looked strong under a hold by Craig Williams at the Cranbourne jump outs on Monday in his first public appearance since winning the Doomben 10,000 during the Brisbane winter carnival.

"He was nice and energetic and he's in good shape,” Giga Kick’s trainer Clayton Douglas told Racenet’s Brad Waters.

"He wasn't asked to do too much either as he was more out just to stretch the legs and to get him away from home,”

Giga Kick is the ruling favourite for this year’s The Everest in the James Harron Bloodstock slot.

On Tuesday morning, the champ Nature Strip kicks off his campaign for Everest run number five in Heat Two which also features Mazu and Overpass, and includes Group One Coolmore Stakes winner Espiona and promising high profile three-year-old King’s Gambit.
