Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale Now Online

Media Release - Sunday August 20

2YOs by the likes of I Am Invincible, Snitzel, Zoustar, Extreme Choice and Written Tycoon headline a strong catalogue of 226 for the Inglis Ready2Race Sale, which is now available online.

The Inglis Ready2Race Sale – the ONLY Australian 2YO sale to produce Group-winning graduates (six) in the past four renewals - is without peer the best Australian breeze-up sale for both domestic and international buyers to target.

It provides the best return on investment, with average earnings of each graduate since 2016 now 28% greater than its nearest rival 2YO sale.

Unbeaten Russian Revolution colt Libertad won the G3 Kindergarten and was purchased from the Ready 2 Race Sale for $210,000 - image Steve Hart.

It’s also the best sale for Hong Kong buyers to enjoy success – there have been 62 individual winning graduates of 169 races in HK since 2018, some 32% more winners and 39% more wins than rival Australian sale graduates – and the best in delivering a larger spread of Stakes winners, with black type victories since 2019 coming in NSW, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and Malaysia, more than its nearest competitor.

Aside from the aforementioned, this year’s catalogue includes juveniles by so many of Australia and New Zealand’s leading stallions such as Deep Field, Toronado, Starspangledbanner, Capitalist, So You Think, Dundeel, Pierro, Justify, Russian Revolution, The Autumn Sun, Per Incanto, Shamus Award, Savabeel, Street Boss, Lonhro, Nicconi, Brazen Beau, Harry Angel, Ocean Park, All Too Hard, Trapeze Artist, Brave Smash, Almanzor etc.

Now pensioned, reigning Champion HK Sire Deep Field has seven colts and geldings entered.

There is also a selection of a popular mix of First Season Sires including Alabama Express, Blue Point, Brutal, Calyx, Castelvecchio, Cosmic Force, D’Argento, Dubious, Exceedance, I Am Immortal, Magna Grecia, Microphone, Pierata, Strasbourg, Tassort, Unite And Conquer, Yes Yes Yes, Zousain etc.

The sale has been supported by 44 individual vendors, including some of the best horse people in Australia and New Zealand including Dean Harvey, Blake Ryan, Shaun and Tal Nolen, Will Forrester, Mel O’Gorman, Mark and Lorraine Forbes, Hinnerk Hueppe, Matt Vella, John Malcolm etc.

This year’s catalogue includes 2YOs which are BOBS, VOBIS, QTIS and Racing Rewards SA-eligible, while all horses offered at the sale are eligible for the $12.55m Inglis Race Series which includes the $2m Inglis Millennium, $1m Inglis Sprint, $5m Xtra Bonus Maiden Series and $1m Pink Bonus Series.

The sale will as usual be preceded by four breeze-up sessions in NSW, Victoria and New Zealand, with the option of turf and artificial surfaces available to vendors.

Seymour and Taupo will host breezes on Monday September 18 while Hawkesbury will be the host venue on Friday September 22.

There will then be a final breeze up session back at Hawkesbury on Thursday October 5, five days prior to the sale at Riverside Stables on Tuesday October 10.

As always, vision of the gallops will be uploaded to the Inglis website and iPad app within 48 hours of each breeze session.

The Inglis Ready2Race Sale is synonymous with racetrack results, with 545 individual winning graduates of over $80m in prizemoney since 2016.

Golden Monkey won this year's Singapore Derby.

Recent graduates include everything from G1 stars like Nettoyer, Group winners such as exiting 3YO Libertad, Forgot You, Allibor, Gunstock, Malkovich, Lightsaber, Prix De Turn etc, Hong Kong stars like Super Wealthy and Wishful Thinker and current Singapore star Golden Monkey, one of the best horses racing in Singapore.

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch was grateful for the support vendors have again shown this year’s sale.

“Our preparations for this auction began back in January and we’ve been working closely with consignors all the way through the yearling sales season to identify stock for the 2YO sale and we’re confident buyers will be impressed with this catalogue as a result,’’ Hutch said.

“We’re extremely lucky to have the best consignors in Australia and New Zealand supporting this sale again in 2023, people who are experts in the development of young racehorses, and I think it is reflected in the success of graduates in recent years and in the quality of the horses that people will see on the breeze up days and at the sale itself.

“You need look no further back than last year’s sale where Annabel Neasham paid $210,000 for a Russian Revolution colt who, now known as Libertad, is one of the most exciting colts in the country, an unbeaten winner of the G3 Kindergarten Stakes and on track for Spring 3YO feature races.

“The Inglis Ready2Race Sale is definitively the best 2YO Sale in Australia statistically for both domestic and international buyers to approach with confidence and we’re looking forward to welcoming buyers to Riverside in October, at what is a fantastic time of the year to be in Sydney.’’
