The sales auditorium was packed when it came to the turn of a half-sister by Dubawi (lot 214) to last weekend's Gr.1 Phoenix Stakes winner BUCANERO FUERTE and Gr.1 Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp winner WOODED to go under the hammer. Consigned by Haras d’Etreham, it was the agent Oliver St Lawrence, acting on behalf of Bahraini interests, that had the final say at €2.4 million for the filly from the talented family of FIRM FRIEND, FRED LALLOUPET and MAGIC RING.

“She’s a lovely filly,” said Oliver St. Lawrence. “I’ve bought her for a Bahraini owner. Her dam has already produced two fantastic performers that have won Group 1s and we hope she will be just as good on the racetrack. She’ll come back to England and we’ll decide later on where she’ll going into training. We’re very happy.”

Consigned by Écurie des Monceaux, the son of DUBAI ROSE is from the family of the excellent SEA LA ROSA, a multiple winner at Group level including the Prix de Royallieu (Gr.1).
“For me, he was the standout colt of the day,” said Richard Brown. “His dam has already produced some good horses and he comes from a great stud. We’re delighted.”
