First Foal for Tiger of Malay

Newgate Farm have not one but two sons of Extreme Choice producing their first foals this spring in Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside and Group II winning speedster Tiger of Malay, whose first foal has delighted her breeder Greg de Vries.

She is the first foal for Unguarded, a five time metro winner of over $200,000 that traces back to the family of Golden Slipper winners Merlene and Capitalist.

"A lovely first foal, we have already booked the mare back," said her breeder Greg de Vries.

A Group winner at two and three, Tiger of Malay was very popular last spring as an alternative to his exceptional sire Extreme Choice, who stands at Newgate at a fee of $275,000.

Tiger of Malay covered 164 mares last year and remains at a fee of $16,500.
