$560,000 Mare in foal to Maurice Tops Inglis Digital

Media Release - Wednesday August 9

Well credentialled mare Satin Love (Snitzel) topped today’s Inglis Digital August (Early) Sale, selling for $560,000 as one of eight lots to realise $100,000 or more.

Offered to dissolve a partnership, the G3 placed Satin Love – carrying a pregnancy to Maurice – sold to James Harron Bloodstock.

Satin Love sold for $560,000.

Harron purchased Satin Love as a yearling and raced her with partners including Belinda Bateman, Rob Love and Arrowfield, so he had no qualms in purchasing the mare to enjoy the next phase of her career as a broodmare.

“I’ve got a lot of confidence buying mares I’ve had a connection with all the way through from a yearling and this is a mare who has really continued to develop and blossom,’’ Harron said.

“She’s due to foal down her Maurice in the next fortnight and then we’ll make a decision as to who she visits next.

“Inglis Digital, it’s just an outstanding platform that continues to bring the industry into the 21st century of business and dealings which are done in such a transparent manner. It’s just so easy.’’

Today’s second-top lot was Warm Smile (New Approach), a mare whose dam is a half sister to nine-time G1 winner Anamoe.

Offered by Merricks Station as agent, Warm Smile sold to Bulla Thoroughbreds for $350,000.

Merricks Station’s Dee Gess-Jones described the result as “absolutely fantastic’’.

“We’re just totally over the moon, we honestly couldn’t be happier with the result,’’ Gess-Jones said.

“That was the goal, to get that price and we’ve managed to do it so it’s just fabulous.’’

Gess-Jones explained why the ownership group decided to sell the mare through Inglis Digital.

“It’s just such a fantastic platform to get some of these mares straight into the market and no matter what level of the market you’re looking for, you know it’s going to be there with Inglis Digital,’’ she continued.

“This mare was still racing while the live broodmare sales were going in May and June so it was better for us to put her online now.''

The August (Early) Sale grossed $3,860,200.

Entries for the Inglis Digital August (Late) Sale are now open and will remain so until midnight next Wednesday, August 16.

Already confirmed for the auction is three-time Group winning mare Flying Mascot (Tavistock), who is being offered as a breeding prospect.

The August (Late) Sale will run from August 18-23.
