New Season Winner for Brave Smash

Sixth on debut last month at Geelong, Goketsu took good improvement from the run and charged late between horses to snatch a well timed long head win in the 1200m maiden for Patrick Moloney.

“She’s probably one of the smallest horses I’ve ever ridden, but she’s very genuine,” said Patrick Moloney.

Goketsu was retained to race by her breeder Mr Lee and is the first winner for Bolly, a winning half-sister by Poet’s Voice (GB) to stakes-winner Shigeru Sendan.

Goketsu is the 12th  first crop winner and first of the new season for Brave Smash, who is fully booked at Yarraman Park at a fee of $33,000.
