New Stud Manager for Fairhill Farm

Media Release - Wednesday July 26

Mike and Debbie O’Donnell are delighted to announce the appointment of accomplished horse woman Lynda Heffernan to the role of Stud Manager at Fairhill Farm.

Lynda Heffernan is the new Stud Manager at Fairhill Farm.

Foaled and raised in Ireland, Lynda Heffernan has been a valuable member of the team at Coolmore Australia for the past seven years and brings a wealth of experience to her new position.

“I grew on a farm outside Mullingar Co. Westmeath, Ireland and my father had a handful of broodmares, so that’s where the love of horses comes from,” said Lynda Heffernan.

“As a teenager I worked in Lewinstown Farm and Deravarra Gallop and in 2016 decided to move to Australia.

“I had only planned on staying nine months and was working for Bjorn Baker in racing when I arrived. I was with Bjorn for a short period, but I needed to get my regional work done to be eligible for a second year visa, so I packed my bags and headed to Jerry’s Plains to do my 88-days at Coolmore.

“My time at Coolmore lasted a lot longer than 88-days and in those seven years I was lucky enough to gain fantastic knowledge and experience at one of the best farms in the world.”

Fairhill Farm is a very successful boutique broodmare farm and the O’Donnell’s have achieved much success over the years for themselves and their clients with star graduates including Group I winners Good Project, Choice Bro, Glorious Days and Darley Princess Series winner Fiesta. They have also dominated the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale in the past three years selling their entire foal crop as weanlings to be leading vendor at Riverside Stables for that sale.

“I look forward to continuing and developing the good work that is already in place at Fairhill Farm,” Heffernan added.
