Promising 2YO Winner for Hellbent

Tara Madgwick - Thursday July 13

Not to be outdone by his Yarraman Park barn mate Brave Smash (Jpn), Hellbent posted his 11th Australian two year-old winner of the season at Gosford on Thursday when Boston Rocks blitzed older rivals to win as he pleased.

Trained by Nathan Doyle, Boston Rocks was unplaced at his only previous run in a metro maiden back in February, but with two recent brilliant trial wins under his belt was sent out favourite and gave punters no cause for concern.

He cruised past the leaders to take the 1000m dash by nearly three lengths.

A $100,000 Inglis HTBA Yearling Sale purchase from the draft of Segenhoe for Kurrinda Bloodstock / Singleton Racing, Boston Rocks was the third highest priced yearling at that sale.

Boston Rocks was bred and sold by Segenhoe Stud.

He is the fourth winner from four foals to race from Spurs and Sashes, a winning half-sister by Flying Spur to Group winners Sabatini and Vivi Veloce.

Hellbent has had a fantastic season with 52 winners of over $5million in prizemoney highlighted by Group winning fillies Kristilli and Magic Time.
