Darley European Stallions Available for Southern Hemisphere Time Covers

Tara Madgwick - Friday July 7

With many Australian breeders and agents currently in Europe, Darley has announced fees for seven of its stallions who will not shuttle to Australia, but will be available to cover to southern hemisphere time headed by Night of Thunder.

Night of Thunder is being made available by Darley for Southern Hemisphere time covering.

A Group I winning son of Dubawi, that enjoyed considerable success in Australia from his one Australian bred crop foaled in 2017, Night of Thunder had nine yearlings sell in Australia this year at an average $168,888 with his top seller a colt from Trapani (GB) that made $350,000 for Yarraman Park at Magic Millions when bought by G W Racing Bloodstock Pty Ltd/Peter Gelagotis Racing.

Kingman’s Group I winning son Palace Pier shuttled to Australia last spring covering 97 mares at a fee of $55,000.

Also being offered is Frankel’s Group I winning young sire son Cracksman, sire of this year’s Group I French Derby winner Ace Impact.

Sam Bullard, Darley's director of stallions, said. "We are pleased to be able to offer southern hemisphere breeders a great range, from top international proven stallions to younger commercial options.

"Night Of Thunder is doing as phenomenally well in Australia as he is here, and Palace Pier's first Australian crop is so well bred, it's a near certainty his second crop will be in great demand at the sales.

"As ever, our stallions are available to view by appointment, and we very much welcome visitors during the July Sales."
