Resonator a Missed Opportunity! Not Too Late

Tara Madgwick - Saturday July 1

Promising three year-old gelding Resonator was offered in the Inglis Digital Sale this week by China Horse Club, Newgate and partners, but passed in shy of his modest $150,000 reserve and was quick to prove his worth with a bold front running win at Rosehill on Saturday.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, the talented son of Brazen Beau made it back to back Rosehill wins having scored at the same track earlier this month.

He was strong to the line for Zac Lloyd to win the Benchmark 72 1500m contest by the best part of a length taking his overall record to four wins from 11 starts with prizemoney in excess of $267,000.

“He’s a tough horse that is building a nice record,” said Adrian Bott.

“He might not necessarily win by flash margins, but had he been challenged late I think he would have kept finding and responding for you.”

“He’s very honest and a nice progressive horse with more upside.”

A $360,000 Magic Millions purchase from KBL Thoroughbreds for China Horse Club/Newgate Bloodstock, Resonator might have fallen short of the sire prospect standard required of his ownership group, but remains a very appealing racing prospect going forward and is still very much for sale, click here to see his ad on Inglis Digital.
