Juvenile Trial Watch - Randwick

Breednet - Friday June 30

There were four two-year-old heats at the Randwick barrier trials on Friday with all the winners yet to race including a couple of promising types by Trapeze Artist.

Trapeze Artist filly Lady Of Poise was given a couple of trials at the start of the year but has shown the benefit of more time with two trials in her second preparation stepping it up a level.

She showed good pace to lead in the 1030m heat and was sent to the line by Regan Bayliss to win her heat well and looks ready to head to the races now.

Out of the stakes winner Blueberry Hill, Lady Of Poise had been offered at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale but ultimately was retained to race by her breeders Zhongli Thoroughbreds.

Trapeze Artist had another look good with the John O’Shea trained La Lynda, which finished second to another O’Shea trained filly, Cross Your Heart in Heat nine.

Cross Your Heart is by Deep Field out of the Gr.3 winner Diddums and was a $280,000 buy for O’Shea and Suman Hedge Bloodstock at Magic Millions Gold Coast.

La Lynda is by Trapeze Artist from La Haraka, a half-sister by Wicked Style (USA) to the stakes winner and multiple Group One placed Nine Haraka.

She was a $280,000 buy for John O’Shea Racing from Springmount Victoria at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

It was the first time in public for both fillies.

Pierro youngster Les Vampires also attracted plenty of attention at his first public outing for the Waterhouse/Bott stable in Heat 10.

A colt out of Gr.3 winner Musidora (High Chaparral), Les Vampires is a full-brother to 2YO stakes winner, and Golden Slipper placegetter Tulip, and a half-brother to the stakes winner Sacred Eye.

The other 1030m heat was won by the Les Bridge trained Sparks Flying, a filly by Flying Artie from the seven time winning Not A Single Doubt mare Certain Ellie.

A $45,000 buy at the Inglis HTBA May Yearling Sale, she is raced by Kim Harding and the Bridge family.
