Royal Ascot Winner for OTI Racing

Tara Madgwick - Friday June 23

OTI Racing colours were carried to victory overnight in the UK at Royal Ascot by lightly raced three year-old Docklands, who won the Britannia Stakes Handicap (1m) over a massive field of 29 starters beating a new acquisition for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

A half-brother by Massaat to stakes-winner Harbour Views that has won over $500,000 in Australia for OTI, three year-old colt Docklands was sent to the post a 6-1 favourite and won by half a length beating New Endeavour, who was purchased from the Goffs London Sale earlier this week for £260,00 by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

“Credit to jockey and horse. I thought it was a very cool ride. Docklands has always been pretty good and I do think he'll stay further so once he travelled that well in I thought we'd gallop really well to the line,” said Harry Eustace.

He’s now had three wins and two seconds from five starts for trainer Harry Eustace.

Docklands was purchased for just 16,000 pounds from the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale and is from the first crop of young Teofilo stallion Massaat.

He is the fifth winner from unraced Mark of Esteem mare  Icky Woo, whose best offspring is US Group III winner Ickymasho in addition to Flemington stakes-winner Harbour Views.
