16 2YO Winners for Russian Revolution

Tara Madgwick - Sunday June 18

The leading second crop sire by earnings, winners and stakes-winners, Russian Revolution added a new two year-old winner to his tally on Saturday when Line of Law saluted at Kembla and now shares the lead as Australia’s leading sire by 2YO winners.

Trained by Bjorn Baker, Line of Law was competitive earlier in the season in quality races won by Fire Lane and Saltaire, so was overdue for a win and scored by a head over 1000m at her fifth start.

Bred by China Horse Club, Line of Law was a $160,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Bjorn Baker Racing / Clarke Bloodstock from the Sledmere Stud draft and is a half-sister to stakes-placed Beldarra being the third winner from winning Sebring mare Inside Line.

Russian Revolution made it a winning double for the day when the progressive Kris Lees trained three year-old Brudenell won the Benchmark 72 event over 1100m at Rosehill.

A modest $80,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Glastonbury Farm draft for Lees Racing / Tasman Bloodstock, Brudenell has won five of eight starts earning over $230,000 in prizemoney.

Russian Revolution stands at a fee of $88,000  this spring after covering 200 mares last year at a fee of $71,500.
