ROSEHILL – Greg Polson
RUNAWAY – Plenty of wraps for D'Argento after his win but that has to make the run of the second horse, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Runaway pretty good. Still a maiden after three starts, Runaway led and had a kick in the straight and made D'Argento work all the way up the Rosehill straight to get past him and the merit of the performance showed in the over two-length gap to third. The good three-year-old races are just around the corner and Runaway looks capable of going on to better things but needs a win. Runaway would be a moral in a 3YO maiden over 1550m at Canterbury if connections chase a confidence boosting win. Career statistics (3:0-2-0).

CAULFIELD – Cameron Happ
SEATTLE BOOM – The lightly raced five-year-old son of Snitzel put in a huge run on Saturday with the wind having such a huge effect on horses that couldn't find cover. He's a leader but they knew from the outside gate it was suicide to try and cross so they tried to slot in but he had no luck being trapped four-deep facing the breeze, two or three lengths off the pace. He was still able to run up and join the lead at the 200m but was no match for the swoopers, with the winner chiming in from last. He was clearly the best of those that faced the breeze to only be beaten 2-3/4 lengths. He's got a stack of upside with that being just his second run for the prep, if he can draw a better gate and put himself right on pace, he'll take beating at his next few starts. Career statistics (7:3-2-0).

DOOMBEN – Graeme Carey
OUTRAGED – Was resuming from a let-up in a 1350m Open Handicap and Lani Fancourt dropped him out the back and let him find his feet. He was 10 lengths off them at the 600m but found some inside runs and charged home to be beaten half a length and may well have won had he not been slightly crowded in the final stages. He will need some more racing but invariably picks up at least one race per preparation and against the current lot of Brisbane middle-distance horses shouldn't find that too difficult. Career statistics (44:7-12-3).

MORPHETTVILLE – Heath Pope
SUPREME POLARITY – Lightly raced, promising Phillip Stokes trained three-year-old that resumed with a terrific/luckless third placing after getting well out of his ground early. In fact, this gelding produced clearly the fastest final sectionals of the race, despite being checked losing all momentum when really hitting the line strongly at 75m. One could certainly argue he was going to be right in the finish, and given this BM75 being clearly the toughest assignment he has contested in his brief career to date, signs are definitely there that he wouldn't be out of place in anything up to Open Company over preferably longer than last Saturday's 1050m. BELMONT – Aaron Mills
FIRE DETONATOR – Looks to have turned a corner after winning his first Saturday race two starts back and putting in another big run this time around. Snagging back to last from a wide barrier, Fire Detonator was held-up from the turn to the 200m, eventually finding clear running along the rail to hit the line about as well as anything over the concluding stages. Has shown he is capable of running a strong mile and his class 2 rating means trainer Sharon Miller should have no trouble finding suitable assignments as we head into the new season. Career statistics (8:2-1-1).
