Sires by Bloodline – I Am Invincible

Tara Madgwick - Monday June 5

Many broodmare owners have already planned and booked their matings for the season ahead, but there’s always room for change and once you decide on a sireline there can be a myriad of options to consider, so this series looks at stallions standing in Australia this spring grouped by sireline - who tickles your fancy?

Yarraman Park’s reigning champion sire I Am Invincible is on track to make it back-to-back sire titles and is Australia’s most expensive sire priced at $302,500 this spring.

He started his career back in 2010 as a fast Group III winner and a lot of the breeders that supported him back then achieved life changing money from the horses they bred in those first four seasons when he stood for $11,000.

I Am Invincible is fully booked this spring and well beyond the budget of the majority of breeders, so a closer look at his sire sons and grand-sons is well worth exploring if you love the bloodline, but are looking for a cheaper option.

Brazen Beau

Brazen Beau was the first I Am Invincible son to go to stud and has left 24 stakes-winners with one G1 winner in Kiwi trained On the Bubbles, while Hellbent is the next most successful option with his oldest progeny three year-olds highlighted by Group winning fillies Kristilli and Magic Time.

Of the other sires with runners, Santos has a G1 winner in his first crop with Ulanova awarded the win in the GI Sistema Stakes following the disqualification of Tokyo Tycoon, while Super One has sired G2 winner Super Smink and SW Another One.

Overshare has sired SW Lady Laguna and Kobayashi has G3 placed Midnight in Tokyo.

Home Affairs holds the big promise for the future and was the busiest and most expensive first season sire last spring, stay tuned for his first foals!
