Abundance of quality racing & breeding prospects in June (Early) catalogue

Media Release - Friday June 2

A mare in foal to world class sire Frankel, a share in a rising star with G1 Spring Carnival goals, a G1-producing mare as well as multiple other quality racing and breeding prospects.

These are just some of the plethora of highlights in the Inglis Digital June (Early) Online Sale, which is undoubtedly one of the strongest and deepest digital catalogues ever collated.

Of Good Cheer is in foal to Frankel.

One of the many standouts is Of Good Cheer (pictured), the young, lightly-raced, winning mare, who is being offered on her first cover to champion and in-demand sire Frankel.

Of Good Cheer hails from an outstanding Juddmonte family which includes champion racehorses such as Champs Elysees, Intercontinental, Banks Hill and Dansili.

She is a daughter of leading European sire Dark Angel, himself broodmare sire of young sire sensation Havana Grey, while her dam is by Dubawi, daughters of whom have bred the likes of Adayar and Homeless Songs when mated with Frankel.

Of Good Cheer is one of a bevy of quality breeding prospects in the June (Early) Sale.

Elite Ateates (Exceed And Excel), the dam of G1 winner and six-time Stakes winner Elite Street, is another standout entry in the sale.

The mare – who has had four to run for four individual winners – is being offered in foal to popular young Darley stallion Blue Point, whose first yearlings have proven to be exceptionally popular this Southern Hemisphere sales season, while his first runners have made an immediate impact in Europe.

Another is Testa Sarah (Testa Rossa), the dam of Listed Inglis Nursery winner Saltaire.

Saltaire proved herself one of the most consistent 2YOs of this current crop, earning $360,000 from just six starts which also included a 2nd placing in the G3 Kindergarten Stakes behind undefeated Inglis Ready2Race star-in-the-making Libertad.

Fortune Seeker is yet another quality breeding prospect in the catalogue that is sure to attract significant interest.

She is a three-quarter sister to Stakes-winning filly Comrade Rosa, a last-start winner of the Listed Helen Coughlan Stakes at Eagle Farm on Saturday who is being aimed at the G1 Tatts Tiara later in the month.

While the breeding prospects section of the catalogue is strong, so is the racing prospects.

An intriguing entry is an unreserved 10% share in rising star Brayden Star.

A dominant last-start winner at Sandown six days ago, the lightly-raced 4YO imported entire Brayden Star has won two of his four starts for Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young since arriving in Australia.

His immediate racing program will include one or two more starts this campaign before being freshened ahead of the Spring Carnival, where he will target races such as the G1 Toorak Handicap in Melbourne and the $2m Five Diamonds in Sydney.

“Darren (Thomas) and Mark (Pilkington) have been inundated with requests to get involved in the horse from the time that they bought him, so this is a rare opportunity for people to back their own judgement and get involved in a potential top-liner who is on the up,” said co-trainer Busuttin.

“He is on the radar of all the astute form assessors, so we are hoping that they are correct and he graduates to the big time next season.

“There are a lot of our existing racing partners who would love to join us on the Brayden Star journey, but the preference for our English-based partner was to offer his 10% share to the whole racing community through an auction, so here we are.”

There is also a 10% share in Scallopini, a multiple Stakes winner who is set to contest the $3m G1 Stradbroke Handicap three days after this sale concludes.
