Baramul Stud Draft a Magic Millions National Yearling Highlight

The Magic Millions National Yearling Sale this week presents buyers with the last opportunity to secure a Magic Millions eligible youngster this year for the lucrative race series that provides ongoing opportunities for talented horses right through their lives and the biggest consignor is Baramul Stud.

Gerry Harvey is one of Austalia’s biggest breeders and his Baramul draft of 40 plus is complemented by a further 20 odd yearlings from his New Zealand farm Westbury Stud.

Gerry Harvey bred horses feature in the winner’s stall of racetracks all over Australia on most days and two of the notable success stories leading into Group I racing in the next few weeks are talented three year-olds Hawaii Five Oh and Renaissance Woman.

Renaissance Woman was sold in the Westbury Stud draft for $250,000

I Am Invincible colt Hawaii Five Oh was retained to race and won the Group III BRC Fred Best Stakes last Saturday enroute to the Group I BRC Stradbroke Handicap, while Reliable Man (GB) filly Renaissance Woman was a $250,000 Karaka Book I purchase from Westbury and will run in the Group I Queensland Oaks this Saturday.

Last year’s Stradbroke winner Alligator Blood is another star graduate from Baramul Stud, the All Too Hard gelding bought for a modest $55,000 at Magic Millions in January before going on to win over $6million.

His sire All Too Hard is the most represented in the Baramul draft at MM National with 13 for buyers to consider including Lot 1413, a filly bred on the same cross as Alligator Blood being from Encosta de Lago mare Win the Lottery, who traces back to the prolific Black Type Tennessee family.
