Singapore Star for Flying Artie – Yearling Half-Sister to Sell this Week

Tara Madgwick - Sunday May 28

Australian bred Flying Artie three year-old Coin Toss is on an upward spiral in Singapore for Gandharvi Racing and posted a strong win in the Singapore Guineas (SngG2)  over 1600m at Kranji on Saturday.

A last start winner of the Singapore Classic Sng G2 (1400m), the Michael Clements trained gelding took the third leg of the Triple Crown by more than a length and may well have won all three legs if not for being withdrawn from the first leg of the series.

“He’s a lovely horse and he makes my job very easy. The team around me, too, the two Michaels (Clements and assistant trainer Michael White),” said winning rider Daniel Moor.

“We’ve got faith in the horse, we know how he needs to be ridden. We’ve got great trust in him, we know he’s going to be effective late.

“I can’t wait for this horse to progress. Next year, the Kranji Mile won’t be without his keeping.

“He’s also got the 4YO series. The world is his oyster.”

A $175,000 buy for Bevan Smith Bloodstock and Gandharvi Racing from Two Bays Farm at the 2021 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Coin Toss has now had nine starts in Singapore for four wins and three placings.

From the multiple stakes placed Thorn Park mare, Headsup, Coin Toss is a half brother to Group II runnerup Shezathinka, while Widden Stud will offer a Yes Yes Yes half sister at the upcoming Magic Millions National Yearling Sale as  Lot 1550.

Coin Toss is one of six stakes-winners for Flying Artie whose multiple Group I winner Artorius is headed back to Royal Ascot next month.

Flying Artie will be a popular new addition at Blue Gum Farm in Victoria this spring at a fee of $16,500.
