2YO Trifecta for Better Than Ready

Tara Madgwick - Saturday May 27

Lyndhurst Stud’s Better than Ready is the leading sire in the country by two year-old winners and has a top chance in the $1million Group II BRC Sires Produce Stakes today in Chrysaor as well as two Group I runners and on Friday he did something very rare and unusual in siring the trifecta in a juvenile race.

Talented gelding Shamedy has been a busy campaigner this season for his sire starting eight times for three wins and three placings with earnings topping $108,000 and the third of his wins came at Rockhampton over 1200m.

He carried 60.5kg to victory over another pair of fillies by Better Than Ready in Hollywood Angel and Tahkian Bubbles.

Shamedy is one of 14 two year-old winners this season for Better Than Ready, who is also running fifth on the General Sires List by winners behind only the big guns.

In addition to Chrysaor running in the Group II BRC Sires Produce Stakes today, Better Than Ready will also have runners in the Group I Queensland Derby (The Vowels) and Kingsford Smith Cup (Alpine Edge).

Standing this spring at a fee of $27,500, Better Than Ready represents amazing bang for buck.
