The Rosemont Stud consigned daughter of Dansili was snapped up by Yulong for $1.35million and is a Group II winner in Australia of over $1.4million, but started her career in the UK.

She was purchased by Rosemont Stud and David Redvers Bloodstock for just 27,000 guineas at the 2020 Tattersalls December Mares Sale, but blossomed after arriving in Australia in 2021.

Nurtured by John O’Shea, Promise of Success won her maiden at Warwick Farm in June of 2021 and has been on an upward spiral ever since.

“(She cost) 27,000 Guineas, the last lot through the December Sale on Day 2, about 10 o’clock at night, and she’s just been a revelation,” said part-owner Hannah Wall.

“It’s just been the most brilliant journey, with brilliant people – the team at Rosemont and his operation and David (Redvers) and I – and it’s just been the stuff of dreams.”

Promise of Success comes with an exceptional European pedigree tracing to Allegretta, the dam of renowned blue hen Urban Sea with Sam Fairgray indicating she may be returned to Europe to go to stud.

For now though she will be given her chance to add a Group I win to her resume.

“She’s a Dansili mare, obviously a very good racemare, so we’ll just chat to John O’Shea. John’s mapped out a program, I think, where she races Saturday and then the Tatt’s Tiara is what he was aiming for,” said Sam Fairgray.

“We’ll just see how she looks for Saturday and whether we run, or whether we wait and go straight into the Tatt’s.”

The likelihood is we’ll breed her in the spring. Dansili and Frankel go very well together so it’s a possibility that she might jump on a plane and head back.

“We’ll just weigh up at the end what we end up with an see where she gets to.”

We ran a story last week about the Frankel x Dansili nick which is responsible for exciting three year-old filly Soul Sister, who heads next to the G1 Epsom Oaks after a resounding win in the Group III Musidora Stakes, read about her here.
