$400,000 So You Think Filly and Dam for Sale Next Week

Tara Madgwick - Friday May 19

The equal highest priced filly on the second day of the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale was a stunning youngster by So You Think from Marquise da Rossa that made $400,000 to the bid of Suman Hedge Bloodstock.

$400,000 So You Think filly from Marquise Da Rossa

Consigned by Phoenix Broodmare Farm, the filly is a three-quarter sister to this season’s high class Group III winning three year-old Elliptical, who was also second in the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas and ATC Spring Champion Stakes.

Suman Hedge purchased Elliptical as a yearling so knows the family well.

“We loved the filly the whole time we’ve been here. A couple of horses resonated and we kept coming back to her given our familiarity with the family,” Suman Hedge told Racing.com.

“Her physical similarities are with So You Think. She’s a replica of him with so much quality and class and just a real queen as far as I was concerned and she will continue to develop and be a beautiful horse next year.”

Hedge has no fixed plans as to whether the filly will be re-offered next year or kept to race, but with several of the owners in Elliptical, who has been sold to Hong Kong, keen to invest in the filly, she may well be racing for her new owners.

Marquise da Rossa is for sale next week in foal to So You Think.

Her dam Marquise da Rossa is entered for the Broodmare Sale next week as Lot 998 and is in foal again to So You Think, who had a very strong results at the Weanling Sale with fillies from Sophia’s Choice and Chit Chat selling for $260,000 and $220,000.
