Justifying the Faith

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday May 16

Justify (USA) has emerged a clear leader on the first season sire table with five winners from 10 runners including three stakes-winners, so with only 56 foals in his third crop the small number of weanlings by the Triple Crown winner offered at the Gold Coast this week will generate plenty of interest.

As an outcross sire by Scat Daddy, Justify is a stallion a lot of people would love to see work well in Australia to follow on from the overwhelming success of dirt track performed outcross shuttle success stories such as More Than Ready (USA) and Street Cry (IRE).

The early signs are encouraging and  after remaining in the US last season while the jury was out, Justify is back on the Coolmore roster this spring at the increased fee of $77,000.

Justify has four weanlings to be offered at Magic Millions as follows:

Lot 21 Colt Justify (USA) x Yolanda, by Shamus Award – Kitchwin Hills

First foal of a half-sister to G3 winner Tallow, the dam of Golden Slipper winner Farnan.

Lot 59 Filly Justify x Belhamage, by Exceed and Excel – Coolmore
