Three Group I winning three year-olds in France overnight at Longchamp and two sired by sons of Galileo with the third from a daughter of the legendary Coolmore stallion.
The Group I Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (1600m) for the fillies delivered a second G1 victory for quality Churchill filly Blue Rose Cen, who was the Champion 2YO Filly in France last year capping her season with a win in the Group I Prix Marcel Boussac.
Prepared by Christopher Head, Blue Rose Cen showed her class to cruise home and win by a length and three-quarters taking her overall record to six wins and a second from seven starts.
Blue Rose Cen heads next to the Prix de Diane (French Oaks) on June 18.
"She's brilliant, what a filly," Christpher Head said.
"She's doing everything easily, whether it's from the front or the back. I can't wait to see her over a longer distance now because we've been doing the same thing for a few races now and I'd like to see something new. After the Prix de Diane we'll see what we'll do."
A homebred for Yeguada Centurion SLU, Blue Rose Cen is the first foal from dual Group III winner Queen Blossom and is one of two Group I winners for Churchill (IRE), who shuttles to Coolmore Australia again this spring at a fee of $22,000.
The Group I Poule d’Essai des Poulains (1600m) for the colts produced a shock result when the Andreas Schutz trained roughie Marhaba Ya Sanafi scored his first Black Type win when posting a short neck victory over UK raider Isaac Shelby (Night of Thunder) with race favourite American Flag (Wootton Bassett)in fourth.
Marhaba Ya Sanafi was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock and has the overall record of three wins and a second from five starts and holds an entry for the French Derby.
Marhaba Ya Sanafi is the best of two winners from unraced Galileo mare Danega, a daughter of Group III winner Danelissima from the family of Group I winners Intense Focus and Skitter Scatter.
He is the 22nd stakes-winner and second Group I winner for Muhaarar (Oasis Dream), who stands at Shadwell for €7,500.
The Group I Prix Saint Alary (20900m) was won by expensive Frankel filly Jannah Rose, who made it three wins in as many starts with a stylish three-quarter length win.
Trained by Carlos Laffon-Parias, Jannah Rose won the Group III Prix Vanteaux at her second start and continued her swift rise with the Prix de Diane (French Oaks) next on her radar.
“To win that G3 last time out on only her second start was already an accomplishment and I knew she would have no problem staying an extra furlong. She looked the winner two out and I had some thoughts earlier in the week to run her in the Pouliches, but this race looked weaker and obviously the winner of the Guineas is a very good one,” said her trainer.
“If the Guineas winner runs in the Diane, we will meet her there and it will be a sensational Classic. She is learning and is more relaxed–she is gaining experience and this will only make her stronger.”
Jannah Rose was bought for €650,000 from the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale by Al Shira’aa Farms and is a three-quarter sister to Group II winner Creggs Pipes from Sophie Germain, an unraced Indian Ridge mare from Group I Italian Oaks winner Nydrion.
Jannah Rose is the 27th Group I winner for Frankel and is his second G1 winner this year joining Newmarket 2000 Guineas winner Chaldean.
