So You Think Filly Wins Guineas

Tara Madgwick - Saturday May 13

A half-sister to $3.5million earner Dalasan, progressive So You Think filly Party Princess has been promising to win a stakes race for a while now and got the job done in style when scoring a commanding victory in the Listed SAJC Adelaide Guineas (1600m) at Morphettville on Saturday.

Not far away when eighth at her previous run in the Group I SAJC Australasian Oaks at 2000m, the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas trained filly appreciated a drop back to 1600m to score a comprehensive three length win.

“We were rapt for her to come out and win that today as things went wrong a little bit during the prep and things didn’t go right the other day (Oaks), but she stamped her class over the Guineas field,” said Andrew Gluyas.

A $300,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Mill Park draft for her trainers, Party Princess runs for a partnership that includes her breeders.

Party Princess was a $300,000 Magic Million yearling.

She is the second stakes-winner among four winners from stakes-placed Khandallah, who had a filly by Ghaiyyath (IRE) last spring before being covered by The Autumn Sun.

She is the 52nd stakes-winner for So You Think and is his ninth in Australia this year.

So You Think stands at a fee of $99,000.
